How it started…

This journey began by taking a simple ring making class in Austin TX back in 2015. It was a birthday present to myself and I instantly fell head over heels with everything that had to do with working with metal and manipulating the flames. The class was only a few weeks long, but I immediately signed up for open studios, spending as much time as I possibly could at an open bench there. Pretty shortly after I was able to throw my first collection release, which was at Coco Coquette and dedicated to Nyx incorporating lots of Black Onyx and Tourmaline. I was still working full time at a barber shop, while also running Foxtrot Studio (a small one sink chair I built in the spare room of house I was living in to focus more of color) which soon had a wall selling my hand made jewels I was working on in my spare time. I started out selling at markets around town (thank you to all my friends who gave me rides to markets and to play shows with all my gear since I didn’t have a car ~ yall the real ones) and met some great people and and picked up some amazing things from incredible artists I had the pleasure of vending alongside, which still adorn me and my house. After a few years of working 3 full time jobs I made the decision to pursue metal smithing full time, and prioritize my own mental and physical well being by setting my own schedule. It’s been around SEVEN years of working full time as a Metal Smith and I am still blown away that I get to do what I love and keep learning and expanding in my craft because of the everyones support.
